The LOTS’ world-premier recording of The Gitanos will be for sale shortly - check back for updates.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor and Edward Oxenford’s cantata-operetta The Gitanos (1898) tells the story of a band of travelers who gather in an orange grove near the palace of an Andalusian nobleman on a holiday, knowing that it is customary for the nobleman’s daughter, Isola, to offer blessings to passersby.

This world premiere recording, made on March 2, 2025, is scored for soprano and alto voices, using the composer’s original piano orchestration, with percussion thoughtfully adapted from cues found in the libretto. This recording includes all music and dialogue.
